About Wixen Music

Wixen Music Publishing, Inc., family owned and run, as an alternative channel for publishing administration, copyright management and royalty compliance review. The company’s roster consists of over 2,000 clients comprising the very top songwriters and recording artists from all genres of music. Since its founding in 1978, Wixen has represented the catalogs of legacy artists such as The Doors and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, in addition to venerable contemporary acts including The Black Keys, Missy Elliott, and Sturgill Simpson.

Administrative Approach

From the beginning, the emphasis has always been on providing ultra-high quality administration with extra consideration given towards royalty analysis, while both protecting and exploiting our clients' copyrights. Wixen has always prioritized copyright protection, allowing their clients to maintain ownership of their work. Statements are scrutinized closely to ensure that, among other things, all songs have been properly accounted and all sources of income have rendered timely accountings. With the help of over 40 independent sub-publishers and a sister office in the UK, Wixen is able to keep a close eye on their clients’ royalties overseas, in addition to the United States.

Creative Resources

Paramount to an artist’s career are relationships within the industry and a working knowledge of the vast array of possibilities it provides. Wixen’s creative team actively engages with music supervisors, managers, producers and other industry professionals to create exciting opportunities for their clients ranging from songwriting camps and other collaborations to placements of their music in films, television shows, trailers, ads, and video games.

How we work

We keep clients "in the loop," copying them on all important matters. We provide quick turnaround on all communication, both to and from clients and on behalf of clients. We are able to cover the whole world, or only select territories to fit your needs. In general, we work on a one-year term cancelable by either party. The fee for our services is usually 10% of the net receipts or credits received by us on your behalf.
